Watching Dolphins at Chanonry Point

Just north of Inverness Watch Dolphins at Chanonry Point. Over the Kessock Bridge lies the village of North Kessock, between Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle.

This narrow peninsula is an ideal location with views across the Moray Firth to Fort George

The shoreline offers excellent dolphin spotting opportunities over the Beauly Firth,

Dolphin sightings are frequent in this area

Dolphin activity here is influenced by tidal conditions. If you are lucky enough to see dolphins, you will often be incredibly close and only a matter of metres from them as they feed in the channel.

The main viewing area is on shingle beach behind the lighthouse which can be accessed by walking along the beach depending on the tide, There is also a path near the entrance to the car park.

Directions to Chanonry Point
